Spandau Kreuzkirche

Map showing the exact location of our church in Spandau

General

The Kreuzkirche ("Church of the Cross") is located in a housing estate known as "Falkenhagener Feld", in Spandau, in the extreme west of Berlin. Spandau was the area where the British Army had many of its barracks, and a few "old soldiers" still live there.

The church is on the corner of Zeppelinstraße and Pirmasenser Straße and is easily recognisable as a typical 1960s building in an area dominated by more elaborate (and recently renovated) art deco housing stock. It is some distance away from subway and railway services, but bus services provide a reliable service from central Spandau. A small car park is also available.

We worship here on the first Sunday of every month.

On the map

On the official Public Transport maps posted at subway stations and as printed in Berlin Atlas und mehr, the church is located in square Oa14 (on page K39 of the Atlas).

In the Falk Plan for Berlin, the church is located in square D13.

By public transport

The best place to start is at Rathaus Spandau subway station (line U7), or Spandau railway station (S-Bahn lines S9 and S75, regional lines RE2, RE4, RE5, RE6, RB10 and RB13, mainline services).

From there, take one of the following buses:

The church is a short walk from there. It is easier to see if you approach it from Falkenseer Chaussee.

Please see the Public transport advisory for details on interruptions to public transport services.

By car

From Ernst-Reuter-Platz in central Berlin, drive along Otto-Suhr-Allee to Schloss Charlottenburg, and from there along the Spandauer Damm (passing the Schloss on your right). Continue for around three miles, past Ikea and then over the Havel river. Carry straight on along Brunsbütteler Damm, passing the Spandauer Arcaden shopping centre on your right. Take the second turning on your right — this is Nauener Straße. Continue under two railway bridges, straight across Seegefelder Straße — you are now driving along Zeppelinstraße. Go straight across Falkenseer Chaussee, and the church is on your left. The car park is accessible from Pirmasenser Straße, the first turning on the left.

An alternative route from central Spandau: drive to Falkenseer Platz, then follow the signs to Falkensee along Falkenseer Damm and Falkenseer Chaussee. Turn right into Zeppelinstraße.
